Who we are
Paycheck Advance Review is an independent publisher that explains cash advance and earned wage access apps in plain English. Our readers are mostly U.S. workers who need to cover a short gap before payday and want to understand the real cost before they sign up.
We are not affiliated with Grid, Hatfield, Inc. or any app we review. We do not accept payment for ratings, and no company sees our reviews before they are published.
Editorial standards
Every guide on this site is researched and written by our editorial team and checked against primary sources before publication. We rely first on the company's own disclosures, including app store listings, terms of service and help pages, and then on public records and regulator resources such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
- Accuracy first. Prices, limits and features are confirmed against the provider's published terms on the date shown on each page.
- Balanced coverage. We report drawbacks and user complaints alongside strengths.
- Plain language. We explain costs in dollars and, where helpful, as an annual rate so apps can be compared fairly.
- Regular updates. Fintech terms change often. We review core pages at least monthly and update the date when content changes.
How we score apps
Each app is scored from 1 to 5 in five categories, and the overall score is the average.
| Category | What we look at |
|---|---|
| Cost | Membership, tips, transfer fees and cost relative to typical advance sizes. |
| Advance access | Eligibility rules, starting limits, limit growth and transfer speed. |
| Credit building | Whether the product reports to credit bureaus and how accessible it is. |
| Extra tools | Budgeting, banking, tax or savings features that add real value. |
| Customer support | Contact options and patterns in recent user reviews. |
How we make money
Some pages include a form or links from partners that help readers compare short-term cash options. We may be paid when a reader submits a form or signs up through a partner. This compensation never affects our scores or what we say about an app. Read the full advertiser disclosure.
Corrections
If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page. We review every report, correct confirmed errors promptly and update the page date.
